A phobia is an extreme fear of something which is not
actually dangerous to us.
If you live in fear of something which prevents you from participating
in "normal" life such as flying to a holiday in the sun, or travelling
to exciting places because of a fear of spiders, it doesn't matter how
many statistics people give you, or what logic they use to convince you
otherwise - the fear is real.
Fears can also be instilled by our experiences and what
we believe about the world. Fear of the dentist for example is
almost innate - many of us have childhood memories of hearing
exaggerated tales of unendurable pain suffered by other children, and
sometimes from adults. These fears are often exacerbated by the
way others respond to us too - so not only do some people live with an extreme
fear, but they also may also feel stupid or helpless into the bargain.
If you want to overcome the fear or phobia, hypnotherapy can help
quickly, efficiently and often in just a few sessions.
Hypnosis helps by;
-
De-sensitising the client to the stimulus i.e.
spiders, the flying experience
-
Learning new and more relaxed habits
-
Helping you to become much more calm in situations
where you are likely to encounter the stimulus
-
Going back to the cause of the problem and
re-framing the event for a more positive outcome
